NEWS FROM THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT
Mainland welcomes Miss Tiffany Branch who is the new 9th and 10th grade English Resource person. She also serves a SGA co-sponsor and Cheerleading sponsor.
Mr. Randy Rorrer is a new 10th grade English teacher as well as a sports writer for The News Journal.
One exciting thing this department does each month is recognize one of our teachers as teacher of the month. So far, our outstanding teachers are Dr. Tess Petix, Mrs. Barbara Wulchak, Miss Sarah Callahan, Mrs. Cindy Green and Mrs. Susan Holbrook. Congratulations to all of you for a wonderful job!!
We want to recognize Caitlin Bowen for being named a winner of the Florida council of Teachers of English annual writing contest. An awards luncheon was held in Orlando on October 16th. Caitlin won this award while enrolled in Mrs. Carmen Williamson’s 9th grade English class. This prestigious award is present annually to outstanding student writers. CONGRATULATIONS to Caitlin and Mrs. Williamson.
